A priority, power and traffic-aware virtual machine placement of IoT applications in cloud data centers

Recent telecommunication paradigms, such as big data, Internet of Things (IoT), ubiquitous edge computing (UEC), and machine learning, are encountering with a tremendous number complex applications that require different priorities resource demands. These usually consist set virtual machines (VMs) some predefined traffic load between them. The efficiency cloud data center (CDC) prominent component in UEC significantly depends on the its VM placement algorithm applied. However, is an NP-hard problem thus there exist practically no optimal solution for this problem. In paper, motivated by this, we propose priority, power traffic-aware approach efficiently solving CDC. Our aims to jointly minimize consumption, network consumption wastage multi-dimensional heterogeneous To evaluate performance proposed method, compared it state-of-the-art fat-tree topology under various experiments. Results demonstrate method capable reducing total up 29%, 18%, resources 68%, second-best results.
